Who we are:
We’re a small network of homesteads in Michigan, each dedicated to raising happy, healthy puppies—along with chickens, bunnies, and in some cases, goats and horses too!
Emerald Oak Acres & Doodles began with Julie, who spent over a decade fostering more than 150 dogs and puppies through a local animal rescue. Her specialty? Puppies, of course! Through fostering, she discovered a deep passion for helping dogs thrive and find loving homes. That passion grew into a home-based boarding and training program, and eventually blossomed into Emerald Oak Acres.
What started as one home has grown into a close-knit group of five families, all working together to raise beautiful, well-loved puppies without putting the full load on one person. Together, we raise Bernedoodles, Australian Mountain Doodles, Golden Mountain Doodles, and Bernese Mountain Dogs—each one bred and raised with care.
All of the dogs live in our homes as part of our families, and each one has undergone thorough health testing. We’re proud to give our puppies the very best start, focusing on early training and socialization so they grow up confident, happy, and ready to thrive in their forever homes.
We start ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) for all of our puppies when they’re just 4 days old.
Benefits of ENS include more tolerance to stress, improved heart rate, stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands and greater resistance to disease.
As a result of ENS, puppies can typically withstand stressful situations much better and are less likely to react in an aggressive, overly anxious or fearful manner!
Whether you get a puppy from us or from another breeder, this is something you should ensure the breeder does to help your puppy in the long run!
